What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is the fastest growing training program currently practiced in most countries. It is a fitness methodology designed around constantly varying functional movements performed at high intensity.
Constantly varied – means different exercises and workouts every day so you never get bored and you keep learning new skills.
Functional movements – means basic natural movements including running, jumping, lifting, climbing, etc which makes them safe. These movements mimic how we stand, step and move through everyday life. This will increase your athletic ability and body integrity.
High intensity – means more energy output per unit time which results in strength gains and fat loss at the same time, high metabolism, and makes you more active in life in general. Intensity, of course, is relative, allowing everyone to train at a level appropriate to their own physical and psychological limitations.
By doing CrossFit, not only will you get stronger, leaner, fitter, faster, more agile and powerful, you will do it all under the close supervision of certified and experienced coaches and within a fun atmosphere and supportive community.

Who is CrossFit Stride for?

CrossFit is infinitely scalable which means it is appropriate for any age as well as any fitness level. At CrossFit Stride everyone including children, grandparents and professional athletes follow the same program but at their own level of intensity. The complexity of exercises and the loads (or weights) can be scaled up or down as per the ability of the individual. So whatever shape you’re starting from, you’ll be able to jump right in.

When you join, you will receive ramp-up sessions before you will be allowed to participate in the regular classes. During ramp-up sessions, you will be taught basic foundation movements of CrossFit under close supervision of our coaches.
There is a belief about CrossFit that it is only meant for hardcore athletes. Tell you what, it is not true!! In fact, because CrossFit focuses on fundamental functional movements, it is an excellent program for beginners. Basic exercises such as squat, press, pull-up, pushup, running, etc, which are the staple CrossFit exercises are the base of any fitness program. Moreover, you will learn these exercises under guidance of educated coaches. CrossFit utilizes group class methodology to train people, which is much more fun as compared to training alone in a regular gym. Hence, a beginner will stay motivated and get better results.

Coaching All Coaches at CrossFit Stride are well educated, undergo training from the CrossFit HQ USA and are certified by the (ANSI) American National Standards Institute. Traditional GYM’s in many cases do not have a set standard or level of qualification for their coaches to achieve, before they begin coaching.
Training Methodology (Functional vs. Isolation) CrossFit workouts are designed using functional movements which work our bodies by making them move the way they were meant to move. These movements often mimic movements we use in daily life and better prepare us for tasks we may face like moving or lifting heavy objects, etc. Isolation exercises target individual muscles in the body by loading them up during workouts. This can increase the probability of suffering an injury due to over strain. Additionally, all certified CrossFit coaches are knowledgeable about nutrition and will advise you on what to eat at no extra cost. Subscriptions at traditional gyms paint a rosy picture however, in many cases you only understand once you join that you have to pay extra for everything, whether it’s is the coaches attention or advise from the Nutritionist.

On Saturdays, we are open for everyone (members and non members) from 8:00 –  10:00 AM & 5:00 – 8:00 PM. Every Saturday, we host a short seminar/knowledge sharing session where we educate our members and address queries regarding exercise, nutrition, recovery, mobility, travel workouts, sleep, etc.
